The Capital Hotel seeks an Overnight Houseman.

Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Vacuum and shampoo floors in bar and restaurant as needed
  • Dust woodwork in food outlets to include windowsills and chair rails
  • Polish brass fixtures in food outlets
  • High dust light fixtures and window treatments
  • Clean windows
  • Shampoo carpets in common areas outside of meeting rooms
  • Daily cleaning of the back of the house to include back hallways and employee locker rooms
  • Take pride in appearance while adhering to Hotel standards as set forth in the Employee handbook
  • Take initiative and act without being asked
  • Contribute to and foster a positive work environment
  • Act as a life long learner, making effort to improve skills, knowledge and education in all aspects of life
  • Work with coworkers and management to implement Capital ideas and drive positive change
  • Take pride in the Capital Hotel core values, representing and respecting them at all times

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Completion of high school degree with 2 years related cleaning experience
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to read and follow instruction
  • Must be able to spend majority time on your feet
  • Must be able to lift and bend
  • Previous carpet cleaning experience preferred
  • Must be able to pass a thorough background and driving record check
