We are seeking applicants for a full time Driver/Doorperson at the Capital Hotel.

Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Act with the highest ethical standards, treating others fairly and with respect
  • Promptly welcome all guests to the hotel
  • Open all vehicle and hotel doors for guests
  • Use guests’ last names during all interactions
  • Drive hotel vehicles to and from designated destinations in a timely and safe manner
  • Greet guests and provide assistance with unloading and loading their belongings
  • Ensure cleanliness of both the interior and exterior of hotel vehicles
  • Inspect vehicles daily and report any damage or safety concerns immediately to management
  • Ensure Driver cell phone is fully charged and used properly during assigned shift
  • Maintain accurate log of vehicle maintenance and services rendered
  • Ensure vehicles are locked, secured and windows rolled up when leaving them
  • Create a memorable experience during transportation service
  • Assist Valet/Bell with incoming calls, logging tickets and pulling keys when necessary
  • Assist with keeping front entrance clean and organized
  • Escort guests with their registration packets to the Front Desk when Concierge is unavailable
  • Maintain familiarity with hotel services, the Little Rock area and directions in order to answer guest questions
  • Work as a team ensuring information is communicated effectively to the next shift
  • Understand all emergency procedures
  • Report suspicious behavior of patrons to MOD and security
  • Take pride in appearance while adhering to Hotel standards as set forth in the Employee handbook
  • Take initiative and act without being asked
  • Contribute to and foster a positive work environment
  • Act as a life long learner, making effort to improve skills, knowledge and education in all aspects of life
  • Work with coworkers and management to implement Capital ideas and drive positive change

Skills and Requirements

  • Completion of high school is required with a minimum of one year previous experience in an upscale hotel
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Must know how to drive both automatic and standard shift vehicles
  • Must be a self-motivator
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and politely with all guests and co-workers
  • Ability to count and responsibly handle cash
  • Must adhere to Hotel policies as set forth in the Employee Handbook
  • Must be able to remain calm and professional in high stress situations
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and/or push weights of 75-150 pounds
  • Ability to sustain direct contact with the public; must establish high degree of customer service – smile, eye contact, positive personal presentation, etc. – and high volume interaction with guests and staff
  • Must have basic computer knowledge
  • Must be able to adapt to change
  • Must be able to work positively while under pressure
  • Ability to maintain positive morale and professional attitude
  • Must be able to pass a thorough background and driving record check
