The Capital Hotel seeks a Concierge to play a key role in offering world-class service to its guests.

We are specifically seeking a person with established connections in the foodservice industry and detailed knowledge of activities, resources, and services in the Little Rock area that may be helpful to our guests.

Include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for maintaining the presence and overall atmosphere for the Hotel lobby
  • Act as the “information center” for guests, responding quickly, pleasantly and efficiently to all guest call and inquiries
  • Maintain effective working relationship with Front Desk to ensure updated room statuses
  • Responsible for our signature “walk-up” arrival process
  • Obtain correct method of payments and operate as cashier for guest change requests
  • Assist with departures as needed
  • Assist Valet/Bell with incoming calls, logging tickets and pulling keys when necessary
  • Ensure guest privacy and safety at all times
  • Make reservations and acquire entertainment tickets for guests
  • Keep desk area clean, organized and stocked with necessary supplies, material and amenities
  • Maintain familiarity with hotel services and directions in order to answer guest questions
  • Maintain familiarity with the Little Rock area in order to assist guest with their needs and directions
  • Coordinate the delivery of guest packages, luggage and laundry to guest rooms
  • Assist guests with sending out mail and/or FedEx items
  • Ensure proper communication with all shifts
  • Attend departmental briefings and meetings
  • Reports suspicious behavior of patrons to MOD and Security
  • Take pride in appearance while adhering to Hotel standards as set forth in the Employee handbook
  • Take initiative and act without being asked
  • Contribute to and foster a positive work environment
  • Act as a life long learner, making effort to improve skills, knowledge and education in all aspects of life
  • Work with coworkers and management to implement Capital ideas and drive positive change

Skills and Requirements

  • Completion of high school is required. College degree is preferred
  • A minimum of two years previous experience in an upscale Hotel is preferred
  • Must have strong multitasking skills
  • Knowledgeable about shoe shining, bow tie/tie tying and mending buttons
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and politely with Hotel guests and fellow employees
  • Ability to count and handle cash
  • Must adhere to Hotel policies as stated in the Employee Handbook
  • Ability to stay calm and professional under pressure
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time as well as move freely throughout the hotel
  • Ability to move and lift up to 100 pounds frequently
  • Must be able to work positively while under pressure
  • Ability to maintain positive morale and professional attitude
  • Must be able to pass a thorough background and driving record check
