The Capital Hotel seeks a Baker for their hotel and restaurants.

Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for baking of a variety of breads to include baguettes, loafs and buns
  • Prepare and appropriately store all varieties of dough nightly
  • Responsible for all pastry dough to include puff pastry, pate sable, breakfast pastry, biscuits, croissants for both the restaurant and banquets
  • Complete a daily par of all breads on hand
  • Maintain a clean and organized pastry space at all times

Skills and Requirements

  • Culinary degree is preferred but not required
  • Must have at least 2 years previous experience with breads and dough
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Strong decision making skills
  • Must have the ability to read and execute pastry and dough recipes
  • Must be familiar with metric measuring system
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to maintain positive morale and professional attitude
  • Required to pass our background and driving record check
